The GFC Men's Ministry will host Inky Johnson (www.inkyjohnson.com), former University of Tennessee football star, at our next Breakfast of Champions Event, Saturday, August 24, 8:00-10:00AM (Please arrive at 7:45). Breakfast will be catered and is $8/person. You can register for the event at www.gfcnow.com/men or you can register in the lobby between services this Sunday.
Bud Wilkinson, the great old football coach of Oklahoma University, defined the game by saying, "Football is when thousands of fans in the stands desperately in need of exercise are watching 22 young men on the field desperately in need of rest."
That message hits close to home for many of us in our support of the Great Commission. I am asking you as a Community Group Leader to help us get the word out about this event. Please personally plan to attend, and invite the men in your group to come and hear this inspirational story of redemption told by a man who had little in the way of possessions and was not expected to live after a serious on-field injury, yet today claims victory in life through his relationship with Jesus Christ. But more importantly, use this opportunity to introduce a friend, co-worker or neighbor to the power of Jesus Christ through the story of Inky Johnson.
In Honor of His Highest,
Hank Carr, Volunteer Coordinator, Grace Men's Ministry
New 6-week series called Stalled begins this Sunday. This series will look at some of the key issues that cause people to stall out spiritually.
On Sunday, September 22, we begin a new series called, The Ultimate Journey, in which we will be teaching on what it means to experience and grow in Christ. Our pastoral leaders and elders are asking all of our groups to plan on using this sermons series as their group study for this six-week teaching series.
Please mark your calendars for Saturday, October 19, when our GFC Elders will join us for a ½ day of an exciting and valuable leadership development time. Childcare will be provided.
Groups@Grace Marketplace. We will promote all of our small groups starting August 25 - September 15 in the GFC Cafe. Please be in prayer for new small groups that will be starting and for many of our body to join a small group this fall.
