Joy Prom FAQ

Does GFC offer any other programs throughout the year for individuals with special needs?

Yes! Access is our special needs ministry and we meet every Sunday morning at 9:15am and 11am. All ages and levels of ability are welcome. You can email Kim for more information.

What can I expect at Joy Prom?
Expect to have fun! Joy Prom begins with a red carpet entrance where each guest’s name is announced and volunteers from our church welcome them with clapping and cheering. From there, you can visit several different stations including nail painting, shoe-shine, horse and carriage rides, photo booths, and carnival games. Music and dancing will start at 6:00pm. Stations will stay open until 8pm. There is also a low-sensory environment area for those who like a little less stimulation.

What food/drink will be served?
We offer light appetizers and desserts, that will include sugar free items, along with drinks such as tea, lemonade, and water. Dinner will NOT be served at Joy Prom, so please plan accordingly.

Is Joy Prom a drop-off event?
No. We ask that a parent or caregiver be present with each guest or group of guests throughout the evening. This gives family and caregivers a unique chance to share in the joy!

How do I get to Grace Fellowship Church?
Directions to the church can be found here.

Why is there a release form for photos/videos?

We ask that every parent/caregiver sign a release form for the guest(s) they bring to Joy Prom. We use these pictures and videos to promote future Joy Proms as well as share highlights from the event throughout the year to our church body and in the community.

Where can I access pictures from Joy Prom?

Each year, free pictures of the event are posted online. We will let guests know via email as soon as these are available. Pictures from the 2017 Joy Prom are here, and the 2016 Joy Prom photos are here. When you click on the links, you will be taken to Google Photos albums.

How can I support Joy Prom?

Joy Prom would not be possible without the support of local businesses and volunteers. If you’d like to speak with someone about donating a product or service to Joy Prom, please email Lois. There are many opportunities to volunteer your time before and during the event. Watch for volunteer opportunities to open up late summer.
