It's Never Too Late to Start
GFC wants to be a church that helps people grow in their faith and love for Jesus Christ, wherever they are in their relationship with God, whether they are just checking out Christianity for the first time, if they have been following Jesus for many years, or anywhere in between. One particular ministry that we have for anyone checking out the Christian faith is called Starting Point, which is a 10-week conversational group where people can explore faith and experience community. Starting Point groups are a safe place for people with questions about faith, as well as those who want to learn about the Bible and Christianity. This group would be a great starting place for
- Seekers - those who are curious about God, Jesus, the Bible, or Christianity
- Starters - those who have just begun a relationship with Jesus Christ
- Returners - those who have some church experience, but have been away for a while
Look at what Kim Maturo had to say about her recent experience participating in a Starting Point group:
“Starting Point is like sowing seeds in good soil. Grace Fellowship is a church where you are given endless opportunities to seek and experience, to grow your intimate relationship with the heavenly Father, and to fellowship with others. Grace Fellowship Church helps you to know and understand the Bible, and Grace Fellowship welcomes and loves each person who walks through its door unconditionally.
I chose to participate in Starting Point because as a new believer I had doubts and questions about who God was. Was he real, was I really one of his children, was Jesus really sent here for me?
Starting Point allowed me to ask these questions in a safe environment. I was free to express myself without condemnation. I was exposed to the Word in a kind and gentle manner. Each week I seemed to become more honest with myself, eagerly participating in the discussions. Discovering that God's grace was sufficient gave me strength and courage to lead a life of obedience to the Lord. It became clear to me that Jesus was my one and only savior."
Through experiences in Starting Point and other ministries in our church, Kim is now an active member of GFC, serving in meaningful ways in our church as a Stephen Minister and in the community through one of our local partnerships. She is growing in her love for Jesus Christ and is living out her faith in active service to others.
The next Starting Point will meet on Sunday mornings at the church beginning January 27th, from 9:45-10:45 am. If this group sounds like something that you would like to be a part of, please contact Lawton at 979-5305 for more information.
