ECHO - Looking Ahead
I love summer because it gives our family a break from our usual routine of life…getting up early, packing lunches, school, homework, bedtime routine, and then starting all over. ECHO does this for our family as well, but in a very unique way. It helps our family to focus on what’s most important: moving away from focusing on ourselves and towards being a light for Christ and sharing His love with others. Definitely something we need to do a lot more of.
We are excited about ECHO 2013. It will take place the week of July 22-27. This year we have placed our serving opportunities into 4 different categories: Serve Our Schools, Serve Our City, Serve Our Neighbors, and Serve Our Partners. With over 800 opportunities there is something for everyone, from the youngest to the most mature.
Serve our Schools: If you have a student at one of the Johnson City Schools we would love to encourage you to link arms with other families from that school and GFC as you help them prepare for the coming school year.
Serve Our City: We are blessed with a variety of organizations that are striving to meet critical needs in our city. Show them appreciation and affirmation by serving through delivering food boxes, construction, filing, and more.
Serve Our Partners: We partner with several organizations in our community through financial and volunteer support because of the impact for Christ they are making in our community. Come serve alongside them by stocking a food pantry, preparing a mailer, construction, cleaning, and packing backpacks.
Serve Our Neighbors: We are called to love our neighbors and we are doing this through various Backyard Bible Camps in our community. We are excited to return to Lakewood Community and to jumpstart others in various neighborhoods.
ECHO Village is back!!!!: Kids can also serve! There is a special on-site morning service designed just for families with young children (birth-preschool). The morning will provide hands-on activities designed for little ones.
