Meet Our New Student Pastor Preston Davis

GFC has recently hired Preston Davis as our new Student Pastor. We've asked him to introduce himself and his wife Lindsey so that we can get to know them a little better!

Preston Davis, Student Pastor

As a native of Nashville, it’s so great to be back in the Volunteer State! I spent most of my growing up years in Nolensville, TN, graduating from Ravenwood High School in Brentwood. After graduation I knew that the Lord was calling me into vocational ministry, but I wasn’t sure what He had for me. The next four years were spent absorbing as much ministry knowledge as possible and getting my feet wet in student ministry internships and four summers of camp ministry in three different states. In the spring of 2010, I graduated from Union University with a B.A. in Christian Studies and headed off to seminary. My experiences in summer camp ministry led me to believe that the Lord was calling me in that direction, but after two years of seminary training I was called to lead a student ministry in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Months before the move I met a cute blonde-haired girl at a local church in Nashville who was studying in a Dietetic internship at Lipscomb University. She continued to save me a seat each week in that crowded auditorium, and after mustering up the courage to ask her out on a date, I was convinced this girl wasn’t getting away! Just over a year later, ‘Lindsey Davis’ and I married in New Orleans.

We have been married since October of 2013, and the Lord has blessed us with the opportunity to grow in our faith together. We have both learned a great deal about serving each other as a reflection of Jesus and the church. In the spring of 2015, as we continued to pray for God’s plan to be revealed and acted on in our lives, we were given the name of a church in Johnson City that was looking for a Student Pastor to lead the ministry and work as part of great Family Life team. We are so honored to be with this church family, and we can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for the students and families of Grace Fellowship Church.

In our free time, Lindsey and I love hiking, taking in a movie on the couch, and wrestling with our three boxers: Achilles, Bandit, and Duke.
