building a community to reach a community

Mission & Beliefs

Mission

GFC is on a mission to glorify God by joining Him in building a community to reach a community.  We strive to create environments where people from all walks of life can experience God's grace and grow in a personal relationship with Him through Biblical teaching, genuine community and committed discipleship.  Through each of our ministries, we aim to pursue growth and struggle well as we treasure our security in God's grace and reach out to a community who is in need of God's grace.  We have a passion to demonstrate Christ's love to our local community through ministries for those in need, tangible acts of service as a church body, and dedicated partnerships with schools and other benevolent organizations.  We also have a passion to boldly go into the world with God's love through sending missionaries, offering several short term mission trips throughout the year, sponsoring children in need and even partnering with a church in Peru.  For over 30 years, GFC has maintained a commitment to wholeheartedly engage with Christ, one another, the least, and the lost through pursuing discipleship, connection, and outreach; in essence, building and reaching.

We believe in...

The only true God, the almighty Creator of all things,1
        existing eternally in three persons
        Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The unique divine inspiration,2
        entire trustworthiness,
        and authority of the Bible.

The dignity and brokenness of all people3
created in God’s image to live in love and holiness,
but alienated from God and each other because of our sin and guilt,
and justly subject to God’s wrath.

Jesus Christ, fully human and fully divine4
        who lived a perfect life,
who took upon Himself the judgment due sinners on the cross,
who was bodily raised from the dead,
and ascended as Savior and Lord.

Eternal life5
which is a free gift given immediately and permanently
to all who, wholly apart from any works,
put their faith in Jesus Christ alone.

The Holy Spirit6
who indwells each believer at the moment of faith
in order to glorify Christ by changing and using us
for the building up of the church.

The church7
which includes all true believers in Christ,
        is distinct from Israel,
        is organized locally,
        and overseen by elders.

The future8
anticipating the coming of Christ for His church at any moment,
followed by the examination of believers for the purpose of rewards,
the physical return of Christ to establish His kingdom on earth,
        the final judgment of unbelievers,
and the creation of a new heaven and new earth
all to the eternal glory of God.
