Monday Memo - February 9
The Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside quiet waters.
He restores my soul.
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
For His name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me.
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in presence of my enemies,
You anoint my head with oil.
My cup overflows.
Surely goodness and faithfulness
Shall follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Once you realized this was Psalm 23, I'll bet you applied your speed-reading skills to it. Please don't. Please. Yesterday, we read these words in light of David's real life experience with God. His life cannot be explained apart from God - and he knew it. Do you? Do I? Slow down. Let Psalm 23 speak to you right now, wherever you may be, whatever you may be facing. You can also watch the Operation Cooperation video used in the service by clicking here. It is all about our partnerships in our community and our ongoing relationship with Mountain View Elementary School. You can be a vital part of it in just two weeks!
P.S. Benjamin received news today that he won't be immediately deported! He will be allowed to re-enter the immigration process with a clean slate. No date is set for his next hearing. Thanks for your prayers!
