Monday Memo - February 16
My family has been here this weekend...including Abbie (my granddaughter) and Ashton, Amanda's new husband. Pure joy. Great to introduce them to some of you on Sunday!
I would like to introduce you to a new GFC staff member. The role of Local Outreach Director has been unfilled since Larry Stamm began his own ministry of teaching and training. Our new director is Gabby Provenzano, soon to be Gabby Range! Gabby is from Kingsport, and comes to us with not only a passion for reaching the least and the lost, but a track record of effective leadership in community outreach.
A part of her responsibility will be to oversee the implementation of OPERATION COOPERATION. The OC includes 1,200 baskets of food for families in need, 3,500 bags of backpack food for school children, and Pine Cove's Camp in the City for over 175 GFC and Mountain View kids. Every dollar given over and above our goal goes toward kickball leagues, a fall festival, and more at Mountain View Elementary School! The OC will cost a minimum of $50,000 and we will each have an opportunity to have our part in it this Sunday through a special offering. That's right! We will be passing a "plate." This will enable us to have a more up close and personal connection to our community. So come thoughtfully and prayerfully. You will also hear a message entitled, FINALLY ! Guess what finally happens to David?
Thought you would also like to hear some good news about Tim Bowers, our staff pastor. His carotid artery is now 100% clear! It was this clot that caused a stroke last fall. His recovery is progressing, but there is much work to do. Thank you for all your prayers for Tim and his family.
I am so grateful to be a part of this Grace family! Thank you for caring for one another! Let's excel still more!
Grace and peace,
