Monday Memo - April 13
Yesterday we sang a song entitled "Great is Thy Faithfulness." Lest we miss where the "chorus" comes from, check out the context in Lamentations 3:1-23.
In dark places He has made me dwell...
He has walled me in so that I cannot go out;
He has made my chain heavy.
Even when I cry out for help, He shuts out my prayer...
He is to me like bear lying in wait...
He bent His bow and made me a target...
My soul has been rejected from peace;
I have forgotten happiness.
This I recall to mind, therefore I have hope.
The Lord's lovingkindnesses indeed never cease,
for His compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
This is an illustration of STRUGGLING WELL! Jeremiah struggles with his hard circumstances honestly, but then affirms the only source of true stability and hope. God's promises indeed never cease... never fail! New every morning, even on Mondays! Great is Your faithfulness.
Hey, quite a start to our new series yesterday...YOU BELIEVE WHAT? I am not sure I understood everything I said! Hang in there... stay with it... we will learn together. If you missed yesterday, check it out here.
P.S. Be quick to sign up for the Grace Equip Event with Greg Koukl on May 1 and 2! Childcare is available.
