Monday Memo - October 13
My head is spinning, but my feet are firm. I never would I have expected to be without Tim Bowers giving me, our staff and church family wise and quality leadership. In case you have not heard, Tim has had a stroke and is unable to fulfill his pastoral role here at GFC for now. His prognosis is good, but there is uncertainty as to the timing of his return to us. We have a great team of staff, elders and volunteers that are daily and weekly seeking God for wisdom and working to make the adjustments that are needed. You can follow Tim's recovery here on CaringBridge. He will go home this week for outpatient therapy, but is still allowed only select visitors. By the way, Tim and Cheryl are new grandparents! Meet Myles Franklin.
This morning the staff read together 1 Corinthians 3:5-11. You may want to read it too. It is why my feet are firm!
We are welcoming our new Family Life Pastor Matt Murphy to our staff this week. Tim actually "recruited" Matt in Texas when Matt was officiating his son Joel's wedding! Matt will oversee our children and student ministries as well provide resources and relationships for young families. He will also serve on our teaching team. I look forward to introducing him to you a week from Sunday!
Couple of things to look forward to:
Men's Breakfast THIS Saturday
A new teaching series on the life of David beginning November 9th
An Evening with C.S. Lewis - Sunday evening, November 16!
P.S. Speaking of grandchildren, take a look at this one----Miss Abbie Oyler!
Great to be on the Journey together,
