Monday Memo - October 19
I have had some concerns as of late. Concerns for others... indeed for myself. We are far more vulnerable to spiritual "failure" than we think. I don't mean that we can fail in regard to eternal life. Eternal life is a gift permanently given to all who believe in Christ. But by allowing unbelief and sin to invade our life, we lose the ability to experience God in our daily life... to our great harm.
Just as the Holy Spirit says, "Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as when they provoked Me...in the wilderness... where your fathers tried Me by testing Me, and saw My works for forty years...They always go astray in their hearts...I swore...they shall not enter My rest.
Take care, brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God. But encourage one another day after day...so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
When we fall away from the "living God," we fall into brokenness in the areas that matter most-relationships, health, even finances. Why are we surprised by this? This is just a HEADS UP this Monday AM. This reality is one of the reasons we have small groups and especially re:generation. It is a group that meets every Monday night at 6:30 to find recovery from our hurts, habits, and hang-ups. Please take advantage of this opportunity!!! All you have to do is show up.
Monday night church happens tonight too, at 6:30. If you missed Sunday, you can now come on Monday!
Grace and peace,
