Monday Memo - October 26
So grateful for the gospel this morning. So simple, Christ died for my sins and rose from the dead. It is not only what He did, but why. Love, passion. The results... forgiveness, acceptance, eternal security, new identity. These are my lingering thoughts from our three services. Matt's message about The Clear and Present Danger in the work place and the baptism of 13 people exposed the power of the gospel to penetrate our heart! May it be so for us today.
Several of you have asked the elders about the opportunity to give a gift of appreciation to Tim and Cheryl Bowers. As you may know, Tim's fulltime employment at GFC has come to an end due to a stroke he suffered just over a year ago. Fortunately, GFC had a very good long-term disability policy. The church has made up the difference between it and his salary for the last year. Beginning in January, they will have income through the disability policy, but it will be significantly less than his previous salary.
If you would like to make a financial gift to the Bowers through GFC, be sure it is so designated by November 15. Just so you'll know, this has not been requested by the Bowers, rather it is initiated by the elders as a statement of love and care.
Thank you all for the ways you allow the gospel of Christ to be evident in your life!
Grace and peace,
P.S. Be sure to set your clocks back one hour this Saturday night!
