Jesus set the example for the need to “Come away by yourselves to a lonely place” (Mark 6:31… and Luke 5:16, 6:12, Matt. 14:23, 17:1-9, 26:36-46). If Jesus, in His divine nature, practiced solitude regularly, how can we deny its importance in our lives? Leaving behind the frantic busyness of our world for a few hours, frees our hearts and minds to recognize the voice of our Good Shepherd (John 10:27).
This retreat will be a time to come away for rest, refreshment and reflection with a smaller group, focusing on direction, goals, priorities, and finding deep community. Similar to our cell phones, we get too many apps running in the background of our lives and we need to shut the device off occasionally and do a “Reset”.
Worship will be a cornerstone of this time with a talented and thoughtful couple providing leadership for us. You’ll receive a journal with notes and directives for our time. Under the able instruction of trusted women in our fellowship, we will be guided in an experience of silence and solitude. No worries… a little fun will be thrown in there, too!
*Recognizing that for many of you this is a huge ask of your family, we are planning a pizza and play event on Saturday evening at Wallabies: $8/child. Dads are free.
