Fresh Grounded Faith
Women, we have shared with you about the Fresh Grounded Faith event on April 10-11 in Blountville, TN, an area-wide women’s event Grace Women is happily helping to co-host where Jennifer Rothschild, Stormie Omartian and Meredith Andrews will share their faith, their stories, and their music with us.
Our very own Sarah McNany, whom you may know through our ministry Roots & Boots, has been diligently serving in preparation for this event, and she wants to share with us why this event is so near and dear to her heart.
I attended a small group for women here at GFC about 4 years ago, and we read through Jennifer Rothschild’s study, “Me, Myself and Lies”. Many of us have read at least one of Stormie Omartian’s “Power of the Praying…” series. Now Meredith Andrews, Dove award-winning musician, will be joining them both in one live event to inspire and encourage us in person.
The mission of this event is to refresh us all with fresh, grounded faith!
These ladies want to help us find contentment, walk with endurance, and celebrate the ordinary. The part about finding contentment and celebrating the ordinary really resonates with me. I seem to always be searching for something “new” and forget to celebrate what I have already – including a husband and a home to care for daily.
Jennifer inspires me personally because she submits to the Lord and trusts Him to guide her, literally. She lost her sight at the young age of 15, but doesn’t live in pity or feels sorry for herself. Instead, she is an example to me! The Lord has blessed me with health and sight - although some of that may change as I grow older! She tells how in her household, she puts everything right where it belongs; then her husband and son come asking her where something is - imagine that? Can you imagine realizing that you could never drive a car? Can you imagine how you would put on your make-up? She jokes that she still knows when she’s having a bad hair day. Jennifer’s story definitely gives me a different perspective on my own issues.
I have just started reading “Power of a Praying Woman” and am eager to read on. I know how powerful prayer is but I don’t usually make it a part of every struggle or need that I have, do you? Stormie Omartian has encouraged millions of women to walk through the tough times of their lives, and I have friends who have been included in those millions.
Please join me at the conference! You can buy tickets today; just contact me! If you would like to join me as a volunteer greeter, you can enjoy reserved seating too, so just let me know!
Thank you Sarah for serving women at GFC! We appreciate your enthusiasm in seeing women discover joy and contentment in our everyday ordinary life experiences!
