Shaping Up This Summer - A New Look for Grace Women!

As many of you know by now, my personal life has been very exciting this year, even hair-raising at times! It may come as no surprise that as the demands on my life personally have increased, it has forced me to look carefully at my commitments this season and ask some important questions.

You may find yourself in this very same place! May I encourage you to pray and seek wise counsel from a spouse, friend or other woman who has journeyed a little further in life? Don't keep trudging along trying to do-it-all. Sister, it won't go well for long!

Fortunately I have had some wonderful counsel and support along the way, and it has turned out to be a timely benefit not just for me, but hopefully will serve as a real blessing to the women at GFC! As I had to face reality with my own limitations in what I could "give" as the Director of Grace Women, it became clear that what I was doing, and how I was doing it, just was not sustainable this season. But the journey of discerning what was most important for us, where we are going and who was needed for us to get there has been amazing - God had a plan! Who knew?!

The most important thing?

For Grace Women to help create environments where women can have Gospel-centered conversations.

Where are we going?

On the Ultimate Journey with Jesus - being changed by Christ to be used by Him! And we're going together, taking "next steps" alongside one another.

Who is walking with us in leadership?

Well, I'm still here :) It's my privilege to sit here and pray, listen, share and act with God's help and leading - with my hope always being that you see a woman desperate for Jesus every step of my journey and run with me to His cross everyday for strength for living. I may not be as available as I'd like to be, but I pray that as we journey as women, sisters will link arms on the trail to help one another when the mud gets deep, and the hills are steep.

But guess who else is now walking with us in leadership!

Friends, please welcome Kim Pruitt as our new Groups Coordinator! She will be serving our M20 leaders as they enjoy a year themed "Keep Calm - Love On". A message we can all take home! In addition to the M2O group, Kim is serving small group facilitators who are open to any woman who wants to participate in a Bible, book or DVD small group this Fall! This is a huge new role so make sure and love on her this year and give her a big warm Grace Women welcome! (Plus, with Kim's creative juices flowing, we may have other exciting things up our sleeves for this ministry year - you'll want to keep in step with us!)

Also join me in welcoming Sherry Watford as our new Care & Connections Coordinator! Sherry has a passion to see women set free from their hurts, hang-ups and habits, and enjoy freedom with Jesus. With a big heart to help women on their ultimate journey, Sherry is available if you are wondering where your "next step" is for personal growth or healing at GFC. It could be that re:generation is for you, or fellowship in a women's group or community group. You may be able to figure it out just fine on your own, but if you are a woman new to GFC or are feeling stuck or uncertain, maybe talking with her is the first step? Love on her too please, she is such a treasure to GFC!

I cannot express to you my joy in having these two wonderful ladies walking with me this season. There are wonderful new things brewing for women this year - at GFC for everyone, but in Grace Women as well. We have said "yes" to God to use us with wobbly knees but brave souls, and we invite each of you to join us and see what He does in and through us all!

Pray for us as we pray for you - and together let's expect something bigger-than-us to happen!
