EVERYONE Can Benefit from Re:generation
Hello, my name is Hannah, I have a new life in Christ, and I’d like to share what Jesus has done for me through the ministry of re:generation.
I trusted Jesus as a young teen, but never fully surrendered my life to him. I was always looking for ways to please others instead of Jesus: my family, friends, boyfriends, teachers, etc. This caused a lot of heartache and I constantly felt like I was inadequate. I did not know my value in Christ.
Psalm 139 says “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”
Before coming to re:gen, my life felt broken, helpless, and out of control. I was blinded by the harm others caused me and unaware of how my sin affected others. I focused so much on blaming others for my pain that I did not own my sin. All I could think was that I would get hurt again if I opened up, so I stuffed my emotions and let fear rule my life.
I knew I needed help so I came to re:gen. When I began re:gen I thought, I don’t really need recovery, my situation isn’t that bad. But through the steps, God showed me that we are all broken and need a Savior. I had let sin cloud my vision so much that I was in denial about what had happened to me, and what I had done to others. Though the steps, I learned how to deal with these issues that were crippling me.
During the past year, I have been challenged a lot in my faith. God has given me opportunities to trust him and he has blessed me so much! There have been many highs and lows, but God promises that he will use it all for his good. I have seen his hand working in my life, and in the life of my re:gen sisters. He is using his word and his people to refine me. He is taking my brokenness and using his light to shine through me.
Romans 8:28 “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,for those who are called according to his purpose.”
If I can encourage you, I just want to say this: don’t think your problems are too big or too small for Jesus! Every person in the world can benefit from re:gen. He is here to save us and love us. Lay aside your fears, pride, control, whatever the sin is, and be vulnerable and let Jesus use your story for his good. It’s so worth it!
