Grace Senior Adults: They Know How to Have a Good Time!

When I arrived at GFC six months ago, I had no idea that I would get to serve beside such wonderful, hospitable, and friendly people. Grace is truly a place where warm and welcoming community abounds and discipleship is always the focus. One of the best examples of this is our Senior Adults Ministry.

If you know anything about this group, you understand they are very dedicated and Gospel-centered people who love to have a good time! I’m always telling them that they sure know how to throw a party and keep their peers engaged. The most recent example is the Valentine’s Banquet. My wife and I and everyone that attended left full and very satisfied after enjoying a great meal and the incredible entertainment of Carson Peters, a local high school student with a very bright future.

The leadership committee carefully plans each social gathering, event, and Bible study.  The next large event we can tell you about is the Christ in the Passover presentation that will include a Seder meal led by Larry Stamm on Thursday, April 7 (click here to learn more).

Another highlight worth mentioning is the current weekly Wednesday morning Bible study on Revelation: “The Unveiling of the Lord Jesus Christ and His Second Coming,” led by our very own, Larry Williams. This study has been a personal blessing to me along with over a hundred who have signed up and meet weekly in person or online.

Let me introduce you to the leadership team that so faithfully serves and leads to offer these great opportunities to gather. First of all, let me mention and honor Carl and Joni Nedderman who have led our senior adult ministry so faithfully for the past 4 years. They just recently handed the leadership role to Dan and Dale Mills, who have graciously stepped up and are now leading the team so well. Thankfully, Carl and Joni have stayed on the team and are serving alongside these faithful leaders and servants of the Lord. Other members of the leadership team include Karen Bellamy, Troy and Shelley Cook, Debbie Holmes, Larry and Judy Jarnigan, Rosemary More, Judy Nourse, and Larry and Gayle Williams. We also thank Donna Simmons for her help and expertise with all of the details and administrative support! What a privilege it has been for me to work with and serve beside these wonderful folks.

Senior adults are the backbone and life of this church and are committed to loving and serving the generations that follow. I am a senior adult, so these folks are near and dear to my heart. I know we all appreciate them so much! They love and are faithful to God, their families, our country and Grace Fellowship Church. Everything we enjoy at Grace is because this group has paid the price, paved the way, and built the foundation so that the generations that follow can continue this great work of God!
