Wedding Application & Officiant Request Form

Congratulations! Getting married is an exciting time in your life and we are excited to play a part in this special day! Please use the form below to provide information about your wedding, request the use of the East Auditorium, and/or request that one of our Pastors provide premarital counseling and officiate your wedding. We know that confirming a pastor and venue are key pieces to your planning, and we promise to respond as quickly as we can.

Before you complete and submit the form, please review the following details and limitations:

  • Due to the many events, small groups, services, and studies being hosted at Grace, we can only consider requests from those who are current and active members at the church. Our first step after receiving a request is to check the database to verify that the applicant has a recent and ongoing connection to Grace Fellowship.
  • Due to a very full weekly schedule, weddings are only booked on Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons. To allow time for our Facilities Team to prepare for our Sunday services, all Saturday weddings must conclude by 5:00 PM, with all personal and wedding-related items removed from the facility no later than 6:00 PM.
  • The cost for renting the East Auditorium for a wedding event is $1,000, with $500 due when the reservation is confirmed and the balance due 30 days before the event. Once your application has been approved, please drop the deposit check into an offering box or mail it to:

Grace Fellowship Church
Attention: Care Pastor
2314 S. Greenwood Drive
Johnson City, TN 37604.

  • In addition to the facility rental fee, it is common for the Presiding Pastor to receive an honorarium for their time. Although the amount can vary depending on how many hours are invested in the rehearsal, service, and premarital counseling, we suggest that the following would be a blessing:

$200 for presiding over the service only.
$300 for attending a rehearsal and presiding over the service.
$500 for providing premarital counseling and presiding over the service.

  • Grace Fellowship will only host or conduct weddings that honor a traditional, Biblical view of marriage, as a lifelong covenant before God and witnesses, between one man and one woman.
  • All weddings conducted at Grace Fellowship must be conducted by a member of our Pastoral Team or by an ordained minister that has been approved by the Care Pastor.
  • Every couple must complete an approved premarital class or a minimum of six hours of premarital counseling with the Presiding Pastor or an approved counselor before they are to be married. The Merge pre-marriage class is offered annually at Grace, and the SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) and Prepare-Enrich pre-marriage assessment and materials are both used by members of our Pastoral Team.
  • All weddings are hosted in the East Auditorium, which could easily be described as more of a large room than a venue. Since our facility is multi-use, the availability of this space is very limited, as is the ability to customize or decorate the space. In its default Sunday setup, the room seats around 200 guests in four sections, with an aisle on the left, center, and right.
  • In addition to the room itself, the following equipment and services are included in the rental:
    • A single, eight-hour block for setup, rehearsal, ceremony, reception, and cleanup. Or in the case of a Friday rehearsal and Saturday wedding, two separate blocks which total eight hours, combined.
    • Direct access to the Care Pastor, who will assist the couple in planning, coordinate the setup, coordinate deliveries, answer questions, and be on site for the duration of the rehearsal and service.
    • Advanced setup of tables and chairs in a configuration that is approved by our Facilities Director.
    • Access to the kitchen for temporary, short-tern refrigeration or warming of food. Cooking or food preparation is not allowed.
    • Access to “coffee service” and related items, like coffee makers, drink dispensers, and serving utensils. Note: These are very limited, and will need to be washed and returned before the family leaves the building.
    • Custodial service before and after the rehearsal and ceremony. Note: This only includes basic vacuuming and trash removal, not cleanup related to any food prep or coffee service, as noted above.
    • Use of the East Group Room and the North 1 Room as bride and groom “suites.” Note: These rooms can only be reserved during the actual eight hours of reserved time. Other groups may meet in these rooms at other times.
    • Four hours of availability by an Audio/Video Technician. The following limitations apply:
    • Pre-recorded music or online playlists must be provided five days in advance.
    • We do not support live music that requires more than a single instrument and two vocal microphones, in addition to the microphone that is used at the podium or by the presiding pastor.
    • Our Tech Team can create a slideshow if photos are provided at least five days in advance. If the family or a funeral home is providing the slideshow, it must be received five days in advance as well.
    • Our Tech Team cannot edit audio or video files.
    • We do not provide multiple lighting transitions or scenes, but only a static wash and one color background.
    • We do not allow family members or outside techs to operate GFC audio/video equipment.
  • For clarity, the following are not provided as part of the facility rental.
    • Kitchen access is only for warm or cold storage of catered meals. Meals cannot be prepared or cooked on site.
    • Dishes, cups, utensils, or any other food service or preparation items.
    • Decorations, centerpieces, flowers, runners, and any other decor.
    • Musical instruments or special lighting setups.
    • DJ equipment or lighting for a reception or dancing.
    • Additional room setups for dinner or dancing by our Facilities Team.

Note: Due to the many events, community groups, care groups, services, and studies being hosted at Grace, we can only consider requests from those who are current and active members at Grace Fellowship. Our first step after receiving a request is to check the database to verify that either the bride or groom have a recent and ongoing connection to the church.

Note: The default Sunday setup in the East Auditorium seats around 200 guests in four sections, with an aisle on the left, center, and right. This setup does not leave room for dinner service or a dance floor. If a reception dinner and dancing is desired, this will require that seating be limited to 100, or that the standard seating be removed after the ceremony and reset by the family and/or guests. Our Facilities Team is not on-site, and cannot assist with resetting the room. If the groom does not use the North 1 room as a dressing suite, this room can be setup to host 80 people for dinner, with room for self-serve catering tables, a cake station, and a small space in the middle for announcements or for the couple to have a first dance. Reducing the number of guests to 60 allows space for a dance floor for all of the guests. The North 1 Room does not have any special lighting or sound equipment.

Note: This is limited to one instrument and two singers.

Once again, congratulations on this landmark, once in a lifetime event! It is a good thing for a man to find a godly wife, and for a woman to find a godly husband. May God richly bless you as you enter into this covenant of marriage!

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails.” (1 Corinthians 13:4-8)
