In September, our region was devastated by flooding caused by Hurricane Helene. Over 100 families in Washington County alone lost their homes entirely. While GFC was active in mobilizing resources to help provide immediate disaster relief, we also have been seeking to discern how to invest in longer-term rebuilding efforts to help those most severely impacted by this tragedy.
GFC is partnering with Appalachia Service Project to build 5 homes for 5 families in 2025! Through giving and serving in strategic ways, we can provide tangible help and hope to folks in our community whose lives have been turned upside down and are in desperate need of assistance. See below to learn more and see how you can get involved in this important initiative to reach our community with the love of Jesus.
You can give to this need directly by visiting gfcnow.com/give and select “Five in 2025” from the dropdown menu.
To build 5 homes we will need $250,000. Currently we are lacking $173,000.
This amount is above the budgeted need for GFC ministries.
You can volunteer to assist with building one of these five homes. There are several upcoming dates to choose from, and more dates will be added, so check back frequently! Click the button below to view dates and complete the volunteer form with ASP.
