Grace Students recently went on a short-term mission trip to Belize collaborating with Filter of Hope. During this trip, GFCers installed water filters in homes in Belize. It was amazing to see God at work through this ministry!
My time in Belize was nothing short of life-altering. I’ve come to realize that the Great Commission isn’t just about sharing the gospel when it’s convenient—it’s about going out of our way to pursue the mission, just as Jesus pursues us every single day. Going door to door to share the Good News of Christ was something I had never done before, and I’m incredibly grateful that both I and the rest of our group got to experience it.

The people I met there were some of the most genuine and caring individuals I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. Belize may be materially impoverished, but being there reminded me that all of us—regardless of where we live—are spiritually broken and in need of Christ. I know without a doubt that during my time in Belize, God taught me a great deal about Himself and about who I am in Him.
Also, in case you didn’t know—Belize is REALLY HOT!! We didn’t have many of the comforts and conveniences we’re used to in America, and honestly, I think that couldn’t have been more beneficial for us. Discomfort has a way of stretching us and being a catalyst for spiritual growth. This trip was an incredible experience for me, and I’m sure for everyone else who went. I can’t thank God enough for allowing us to be part of it!
