Love in Action makes it simple for you to make a difference.

This September through November, we will feature a new opportunity for you to put love into action!

See below for details.

During September, we can impact Mountain View Elementary School through ongoing relationships that serve the school and community!

Mountain View:

Our partnership with Mountain View serves one of the most economically and educationally challenged areas of our city. Since 2010, we have sought to be an encouragement to the school and community through tangible expressions of God’s love. Our goal is to build trust and relationships with the staff, children, and families through direct support and involvement. Great opportunities are before us, and there is much to be done!

During October, we can give items to help support Kairos Prison Ministry, Restore Ukraine, Agape Women’s Services, and feed the hungry in our community. Items can be dropped off at GFC on Sundays or on weekdays during office hours.

Cookies for Kairos: Bake cookies for Kairos Prison Ministry. Cookie collection dates: Oct. 15-17 at GFC.
Click here to sign up to make cookies and view the cookie recipe and packing instructions.

Diapers for Agape Women’s Services: Donate Diapers for Agape. Agape provides free services and practical support to women in our community before, during, and after an unplanned pregnancy.

Coats for Restore Ukraine: Donate new and lightly used coats for displaced Ukrainian families. Restore Ukraine is a charity organization founded in February 2022 during the first week of the full-scale war in Ukraine.

Food for Community Partners: Donate these specific food items to help support two community partners: Good Samaritan Ministries and Mountain View Elementary:
          • Canned Beanie Weenies (pop top lid only)
          • Canned Chef Boyardee (pop top lid only)
          • Canned Green Beans 12 to 14 oz.

During November, we can serve our community through several opportunities with Good Samaritan Ministries!

For November, GFC is partnering with Good Samaritan Ministries in their Hope for the Holidays initiative. Hope for the Holidays serves over 500 local families by providing food for their Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

The Hope for the Holidays program is available to low-income families in Northeast Tennessee with children 17 and younger (including 18-year-old children enrolled in high school).
