According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the definition of a missionary is a person sent on or engaged in a religious mission abroad. While most of us are not this definition of missionary, we have the opportunity to live on mission for Christ wherever God calls us to serve. The mission field comes to me every Sunday as I have had the privilege to serve in Grace Kids for 23 years now, mostly in the first grade classroom. God has such a great imagination in the variety of personalities I get to interact with each Sunday.

I love first grade, because this age is beginning to understand who God is and what He has done for them through the gift of Jesus. What a blessing to see their eyes light up when I tell them that God never sleeps. He sees them all the time and He loves them no matter what. Nothing is more rewarding than to plant the seed of the Gospel with this age group and know that God will make it grow.
