Gifts of Hope and Love
December 6, 2021
This time of year, we often exchange gifts. In a gift exchange, we both give and receive a gift. Normally, spending amounts are fixed to ensure that everyone gives and receives a comparable gift.
When God sends us a gift, there’s no way for us to return the favor with a comparable gift. God the Father’s gift of his Son into our world and into our lives is beyond anything else we could imagine. His generosity to us instigates a response of love that spreads from us to others.
We’re not organizing a gift exchange at GFC, but we are creating opportunities for you to express your care for others. This week you can let a child in need know they are loved by providing a few gifts for them at Christmas. Each participating child has put together a wish-list so you can pick out the perfect gift and clothing items for them. Visit our Gift of Hope webpage to learn more and sign up. The drop off time for these gifts is this coming Saturday; so don’t put it off! At the same link, you can also sign up to pack food boxes for those who need them this holiday season.
