The Pulse: Special Opportunity!

April 1, 2022

Our vision as a church is helping broken and vulnerable people find life in Christ. We recognize that God loved us in Christ when we were utterly broken and far from Him, and now we want to demonstrate His love to those around us.

Some of the most vulnerable people in our world today are the thousands of Afghan families who fled their home country in desperation and are now seeking resettlement here in the United States. Samaritan’s Purse is partnering with individuals to help coordinate the welcoming of these refugee families into local communities where they can find housing, education access, and employment.

This is where you come in.

A team of GFCers has been in communication with Samaritan’s Purse, worked tirelessly to pave the way, and have just learned that we will be receiving one of these families to our community! A family of 7 is on their way and will soon be arriving on our doorstep to start rebuilding their lives. We have located a house where they can live, but are urgently seeking to furnish it, as well as provide clothing for them (they are bringing nothing). If you are able to make any donations to help with this effort, please click here to let us know.

Besides donating, we are in need of folks to help this family by serving in tangible ways (such as helping with transportation, etc.), as well as giving financially to assist with their transition. Visit gfcnow.com/outreach and click on “Afghan Resettlement” to learn more and get involved. Any financial gifts received in excess of our needs for resettling this family will be allocated to other outreach partnerships and initiatives.

Please consider this special opportunity to help a vulnerable family, and thank you for being a community that strives to live out our value, Demonstrating Love. We are never more like God than when we love others, especially those who are vulnerable.
