Elementary Family Serve

Our family was so excited to serve with Grace Kids during our recent Elementary Family Serve Day! Finding ways to serve as a family can be tricky with a younger child, and this was an easy yes for us. Elementary Family Serve Day was an excellent opportunity for our daughter to serve alongside us and enjoy time with friends at church. It also provided an easy way for her to ask questions about the work that we were doing. We chose to take part specifically for her: to model the importance of both service and participation in the community of GFC.

This was a great opportunity to serve our community and spend time together as a family, along with other believers! I’d encourage families with elementary children to participate in future events to open the door for conversations about the importance of Christ-followers showing His love to others in tangible ways. It was such a fun way to introduce kids to service. We met up with friends from our Community Group, and it was wonderful to watch our kids all serving together!

Our daughter, Ella, loved helping with the hot chocolate station! She spent the entire time decorating cups and packing bags for children at Mountain View. She was excited to know that local kids would receive the bags she helped assemble! I loved that, while we were there to serve others, Ella was also being discipled. She was able to learn the importance of serving others and actively participating in the body of Christ. Our family is so thankful for the children’s ministry of GFC and the intentionality with which our children are shepherded.
