New GFC Staff: Meet Jenn Owen!

How can I introduce myself without starting with my family?

Landon and I met at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, after a co-ed softball tournament with friends in 2007. That chance encounter led to 16 years of marriage and two amazing children, Anderson and Adeline. Anderson is 11 years old, loves taekwondo and baseball, and spends his free time outdoors. Adeline is 8 years old and an avid dancer. She loves all things music, movement, and art.
Originally from Fairmont, West Virginia, I landed in Johnson City in February 2012 for Landon’s career. We moved to Johnson City from Somerset, New Jersey, when Landon joined Bristol Motor Speedway.  We’ve learned a lot about NASCAR, concerts, football battles, and MLB classics throughout his time at the Last Great Colosseum. While we do not have family connections to the Tri-Cities community, we absolutely consider it our home.

I spent the first 20 years of my career in commercial lending, credit analysis, nonprofit volunteer leadership, and major gift development; however, I never fully explored my undergraduate degree in Communication and Marketing. Now I am excited to embark on a ministry role as GFC’s Communications Director. My primary focus is to create and implement effective communication strategies that “share the stories” taking place at GFC.

Outside of Sunday service, you’ll find our family at the little league fields, the martial arts academy, or the dance studio. It’s a beautifully busy season of life and we are thankful GFC is a part of it.
