New GFC Staff: Meet Matt Jacobs!

The Lord opens doors that prompt our responses; this is the most accurate description of what led us to GFC.
My wife Maddy and I met in college in the Fall of 2019 at Liberty University in central Virginia where we were both studying. We dated long distance for several years while she was finishing her degree before getting married in the Fall of 2022. We now have 3 cats – Milo, Millie, and Mardie; I think that makes me a cat person and at this point I am embracing it although I said I never would.
I graduated from Liberty with a degree in Youth Ministry and immediately moved to West Virginia to start in Hurricane, WV. During our time in West Virginia, we saw the hand of the Lord at work in the lives of students and parents through salvations, baptisms, and an explosion of bold faith in the local high school.
We both have a passion and calling to this next generation; we desire to see students know and follow Jesus with everything in them. We love attending student events, whether that involves Friday Night Lights, or a dance recital we have been anywhere that students are! I have a deep-rooted belief that if I want students to come to me then I need to go where they are and to the things that matter most to them.
When we aren’t with students, we can be found at a dirt track watching some racing, local rodeo watching some bull riding and barrel racing, watching something sports related (especially hockey), or on a trail just taking a hike. (Unfortunately, we seem to attract ticks at an alarming rate)
I am humbled that God has opened this door at Grace and look forward to being His vessel! To God be all of the glory!
