New GFC Staff: Meet Rich Riesz!

Tell us about your connection to GFC!

We moved to the Tri-Cities in August of 2000 with a 3-year-old son, 12- and 13-year-old daughters from Naples, Florida. We were struggling to find a church with a children’s ministry, and our neighbor connected us to Grace. We started coming here in 2002 and never looked back.

How long have you been a part of Re:Generation?

I’ve had the privilege of being part of Re:gen from the very beginning, 2013. The church was looking for a ministry that would reach into the community and offer a Christ centered recovery opportunity. After looking at several options, Re:gen was a no-brainer!

Your passion for Re:Gen is obvious. What fuels that commitment for you?

Hearing the stories of life change! We have people from all walks of life , many different churches, and those not connected with any church show up on Monday night. No matter what brought them through the door, the answer for all is the same, and no one there can help them. The only thing we can do is create an atmosphere that allows them to experience new life (regeneration) through Jesus. Commencement is when you get to hear those stories and celebrate what God is doing.

What do you hope to accomplish during your time with Re:Gen?

My desire is to encourage and equip the volunteer army that makes Re:gen happen on Monday night. There are a lot of great men and women who show up and pour into this program to create that atmosphere that welcomes anyone, and allows the spirit to work.

Tell us one thing the GFC and Re:Gen community may not know about you!

Trish and I love to travel, warm places in the winter….
